The hair style can be long or short, but "keep it clean".

High and Tight

This all time favorite tops the hair trend list as being the base for nearly 75% of most popular styles currently being worn. With maximum versatility allowing for simple or extreme styling, this cut is notorious for its meticulous cropped cut on the sides and back of the head, with enough hair on top to comb or style.

Spike

Known as the sexy 'messy' look, this style is easy to achieve and takes less time than you take to brush your teeth. A Guide To Balding Men's Hairstyles

It’s unbelievable how difficult it is to find any decent information on the internet about balding men’s hairstyles.

You’ll know this yourself if you’ve ever tried to do a search on Google for ‘balding men’s hairstyles’, ‘hairstyles for balding men’, ‘balding hairstyles’ or any other amount of variations on the theme.

This is surprising considering how many balding men there are who deserve a decent hairstyle as much as any one else…

So… faced with this injustice I’ve put together my own guide to balding men’s hairstyles…

It’s a fact that 95% of all balding or bald men suffer from male pattern baldness. Male pattern baldness usually starts with a receding hairline at the front and is frequently accompanied with thinning at the top.

Over time, this thinning turns into a full fledged bald spot, and the bald spot grows to cover the head, apart from the sides and around the back.

Regardless of this, as long as there is a single hair left on my head I’ll still demand a stylish coiffure. So, what balding hairstyle options are available?

The worst balding men’s hairstyle is the comb over. This is the classic look beloved of men of a certain age whereby the hair is grown longer on one side of the head and ‘combed over’ the bald area to the other side.

This strategy only spells disaster even in the slightest of breezes and is to be avoided at all costs.

But assuming you already know this, what are the other do’s and don'ts to balding men’s hairstyles?

The first common mistake is combing the hair straight back. This may cover bald spots, but it only exposes the forehead and draws attention to the receding hairline.

The second is growing your hair longer at the back to make up for what's lacking on top. This unbalances the head and draws even more attention to the scalp and the baldness.

Younger men with thinning hair might be tempted to use gel… but this isn’t recommended. Gel clumps your hair together and reveals the scalp.

Likewise, growing your hair long in an attempt to cover up actually causes hair to separate and show more scalp.

So, what are the do’s?

Get more natural looking fluff to your hair by using mousses and conditioners.

Grow your remaining hair by a few inches, get it layered and brush it forward to break up the receding hairline.

If your hairline isn’t receding too badly, but the top of your head is thinning, you can get away with keeping the front long and combing your hair straight back to cover the bald spot.

Eventually however, your bald spot will expand.

The ultimate balding men’s hairstyle when faced with a shiny bald dome, is to go the whole hog and shave it off or at least a very close trim.

You’ll probably be amazed at people’s reactions and the compliments you’ll get – the shaved look is a totally acceptable balding hairstyle these days.

Start with electric clippers like you find in the barbers. After you've clipped the heavy stuff, lather up with shaving gel. This gives you a closer, smoother shave than shaving cream.

Then using a razor, start at the top and shave down with the grain taking care at the back - it’s recommended to watch what you’re doing with a small mirror.

Shaving your head only takes a few minutes and you don't need to do it every day (two to three times a week is fine).

Taking care of your new shaved head is much like taking care of your face. Wash regularly with moisturizing soap, rather than a harsh deodorant soap that can dry out the skin on your head. Also use a good quality moisturizer after every wash – cheaper moisturizers will just clog up your pores.

For the summer, find a moisturizer with a sun protection factor of at least 15 to avoid sunburn on your head. And you'll need a warm hat in winter to maintain your body heat.

If shaving doesn't tickle your fancy then you can always opt for a hairpiece as a last resort - though I wouldn't recommend it :-)

Different Men's Hairstyles - Choose One That Suits Your Face

If you have lustrous hair growth on your head, it adds to your charisma and your personality stands out. If you have good curls, you can go in for latest hairstyles. When opting for a hairstyle, check with your hairstylist which hairstyle would suit your face. Depending on the shape of your face, your stylist would suggest the required hairstyle. It is important to know that all types of hairstyle may not suit your face though it may be in trend. Some of the men's hairstyles and tips on which one to follow would give you an idea on what would suit your personality.

Short men's Hairstyles

- This hairstyle would go well with men who have a lively and active trait
- If your face is square shaped, it would be a total mismatch. Short cuts normally suit every other face.
- Short hairs cuts would go well with men who have straight curl. The curl should not be too curly. A soft or medium texture is preferred.
- Men with straight hair normally look younger as compared to men with curly hair. Moreover, many hairstyles can be tried with straight curl. As against curly hair, the hair first needs to be straightened permanently. There is no permanent cure for curly hair. The only way out is to go in for regular sittings of straightening.
- You could use wax, gel or pomade to style your curl. Styling products are used to give style and shape to your curl.

Medium Men's Hairstyles

- Medium hair lends a mature and wise look
- This hairstyle suits every face shape. If your face is spherical, make sure you do not use bangs.
- Go to textured choppy hairstyle, if you are particular on having different hairstyle choices.
- Round brush lends hair volume. A round hair-brush should be used for directing hair from the root to the hair top. You could use a hair-dryer which would give you the required bouncy look and effect

Long Men's Hairstyles

- Ideal for oval, spherical or heart faced men
- Long hair cuts makes the face look longer
- Ideal for men with very thin hair
- Use a hair-brush to brush your hair and then you can use a hairdryer and blow your hair for giving the requisite shape.
- Use funnel in the hairdryer. Make sure low heat is used for drying hair or else it would affect the hair quality.

Best Hairstyles For Men

Men hairstyles may not be as complicated as women hairstyles but every man does want that unique and fresh look that only the best hairstyle can provide.

So how can you get the best hairstyle? First off, it is important that you are true to yourself; pick a hairstyle that goes with your personality, style and the shape of your face as well. Many hairstyles will only look good on a certain face shape, for example a buzz cut can be very sexy on a man and simple as well, but this is not the best hairstyle if you have big ears or an odd shaped head.

If you have thinning hair or are going bald then don't try to hide your hair loss by growing long hair or even worse having a comb over, the best option for you would be to go for the bald head style. Celebrities such as Vin Diesel and Bruce Willis are a good example for this.

This year hairstyles for men are all about keeping it simple if you are going short or having a messy hair look if you want to go longer. If you are opting for a short hairstyle for men then make sure it goes with the shape of your face and this style is very easy to maintain afterward.

For longer hairstyles for men, it is better to go to a salon and pay a couple extra dollars for a top quality haircut. After getting the hairstyle you want make sure you buy a hairstyling product. Don't try to use the cheapest product, they can cause dandruff and ruin your style, there are many hairstyling products for men that may cost a bit more but will do wonders for your hairstyle.

Cool Haircuts: For Men

A hair cut really defines a big part of your image. I remember my little brother always strived to have the coolest hair cut around. He would cut and trim down his hair by himself for hours in the bathroom and every time he came out of it, he had a crazy looking hair do and somehow every one liked them. These are all the styles I can remember him of having:

• A 6 inch Mohawk

• A Completely shaved head

• Spiky wild hair

• Long hair

• A small Mohawk

• 50/50 hair do

• The Krusty look

• And much much more!

There are countless of cool hair cuts, and if you can see I even had to make up names for the looks my brother had. I called the 50/50 hair do a style that had half of the head trimmed really short, and the other half trimmed down not so short. But the trimming had to be done in such a manner that the middle had to be longer than the rest, really complicated do if you ask me. My brother said he would like to copy German soccer team player, Bastian Schweinsteiger, but he's never actually got to copy it as good.

But the coolness of a hair style really depends on the image you want to express. For example, a completely shaved head doesn't suit most people, or at least it certainly didn’t work for my brother. I'd say that the classical cool hair cuts for men are spiky hair, long hair and small Mohawks.

But there are cool styles for different kind of men. For teenagers the above mentioned is perfectly good, but for guys a little bit older there are different styles. A guy that always seems to have a cool hair do is David Beckham, so I would recommend you to keep an eye out for him because he always seems to have that good looking hair we women love so much! Another famous personality that has always had a great hair cut, one of my favorites, is James Bond. No matter which actor represents him, James Bond will always have a great looking hair style.

But no matter who, or which style you choose to have, a cool hair cut style can only look cool if it’s the right one for you. It all depends on your facial shape, hair color – which is a huge factor is defining which is cool and which is not –, and confidence. An excellent tip is to bring a picture of the style you want to your hairdresser and ask him if it fits your or which fits you.
